Where does the map data come from?
Open police data published by city and county agencies, refreshed on a schedule, plus community reports that have been approved in moderation.
What is Driving Mode?
Turn-by-turn navigation with alerts along your route. An alert appears as you approach a reported incident — it names the category, the distance, and where the data came from.
Can I report something myself?
Yes. Submit a location or a concern. Every report goes to moderation, and approved ones appear on the map with distinct styling so you can tell them apart.
Is there a version I can use on a laptop?
Yes. There is a browser map at app.safestarr.com with filters, live updates, and navigation-style controls. The mobile apps add Driving Mode on the road.
How is my location used?
SafeStarr uses your location to show nearby safety points on the map and to power Driving Mode navigation. Location is used while the app is in use, and during active driving navigation when enabled.
